Dungan Lagman is not just gastronomy -  it is an immersion in the life and traditions of the local Dungan people who migrated from China. During the cooking class you will learn about the Dungans, their traditions, and the history of their journey. Try home-made Dungan vinegar - an ecological product prepared according to an original recipe which the Dungans brought with them more than 150 years ago; the secrets of which are preserved only in Karakol. Learn how to cook laza - a local spicy condiment      which stands on the table in every Karakol restaurant, as well as why locals jokingly call it Dungan jam. Finally, prepare your own hand-rolled noodles and vegetable-rich lagman sauce before joining together as a group to taste the flavors of your work.

After a hands-on cooking experience, you'll taste the results of your efforts in a group meal of lagman, steamed bread, Madanur tea and famous Dungan bran vinegar, which is only made by Dungans in Issyk-Kul. Even if you've tasted lagman in restaurants, this tour is still for you - nothing tastes better than a feast you make yourself!
