Strategies for the development of sustainable tourism

On March 29, Destination Karakol and the Karakol City Hall held working sessions with expert Asylbek Chekirov in the hotel “Madanur” to workshopdevelop a strategy for the development of sustainable tourism in destination Karakol and surrounding areas.

The event was organized with the support of the Swiss project “Sustainable Development of Winter Tourism”. Participants in the sessions were representatives of the tourism sector, deputies of Karakol City Kenesh, staff of Karakol Mayor’s office staff, representatives of culture, heads of museums, educational institutions in the field of tourism, tourism police, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

As a result of discussions, priority directions were identified in the strategy for the development of tourism for the period of 2023-2028. All considered proposals will be included in a final document, which will be presented for public discussion and submitted for final approval to the Karakol City Kenesh.
